To balance out too many negative reviews. I was determined to add a positive one. We were(five of us) at The Cowherds on Tues 22nd July and found everything satifactory. The choice on the menu is fairly wide, from pies to steaks( only items I would also like to see added is a selection of pastas). We were early( ordered about 6.00pm)and they were fairly busy, the orders arrived in good time, the cheerfull staff checked regularly that we were alright and the food was nicely cooked and enjoyable.

Went to the Cowherds last night even though most of the reviews I'd read were negative. I have to say, the food was wonderful, and our waitress was really nice, nothing was too much trouble for her. The bar is a diferent story though. A very long wait to get served, however, the barman was a nice guy and very pleasant. The vegetarian menu wasn't great but the daily specials had a very nice sounding veg curry on it. A lovely evening was had by all.

Having previously lived near the Cowherds and had lots of excellent meals I went back on the 6th. It was busy so we didnt mind waiting 50 mins for our starters which were good. We then waited and hour and a half for our main meal to arrive and when it did my girlfriends fish pie was still cold and raw. We decided not to wait for a new meal and left. All in all a shocking evening out and not to be repeated.
